A breathless reporter on one of the national news shows on a major network declared “the current Republican plan to replace ACA was dead on arrival”. His central reason was the “AMA (American Medical Association) representing America’s doctors was against it.
Here is the simple research this reporter could have done in literally ten minutes.
- The AMA membership represented 75% of all U.S. physicians in the 1950’s
- Today the membership is only 15% of all U.S. Physicians
- A national survey of the gradually declining membership plummeted following the passage of the ACA as the majority of physicians hated Obamacare and….they still do.
The message is simple. Physicians overwhelmingly dislike Obamacare and the AMA does not speak for 85% of a U.S. Physicians
